Strategic Planning, and God's Timing

I wanted to let everyone know that our Strategic Planning Retreat went well. The two days were very, very long, but also very productive. We've still got some work to do but should be able to share our new Vision, and Mission statements with you guys in just a short while.

Thanks so much for your prayers. I think I speak for everyone, when I say that God was in our discussions.

On the praise end of things I'd like to share an email I got from a lady last night. Her daughter was very seriously thinking about joining the LDS church nearly three years ago and I spent quite a bit of time talking with her and encouraging her. It's fairly usual for me not to hear back with an update, so you can imagine how blessed I feel that this mom took the time to let me know "the rest of the story."

Hi Katrina,
As I was cleaning out older e-mails, I came across this e-mail and wanted to reach out to you with an update on _________.
My heart is so full of Joy for your willingness to be available for my daughter when I reached out to you through IRR.  When she saw your e-mail and knew how many people were praying for her, she was overwhelmed.  I don't believe the two of you ever spoke...?
UPDATE:  ________ did go to CCBC/Calvary Chapel Bible College for 2 years (4 semester program).  When she got there, she had a randomly assigned roommate who was a former Mormon!!!  That is when you know God is so alive!  She earned her Associates in Theology and spent her final semester in Jerusalem (3 months!).
She is so full of life and grateful to be confident in her faith in Jesus Christ and as a Christian.  The DVDs from IRR had a profound effect on her learning the facts and truth about the Mormon religion.
She is back home now in Ventura CA.  She is going to community college and works with the teenagers/high school group at her church.
Thank you again for being willing to be there for her... it did make a huge difference for her to know so many people cared.

How exciting it is to see the rest of the story. Thank you so much for being a part of this ministry and for your prayers for the folks we minister to. This girl was greatly touched to know that YOU were praying for her.

Lastly, I'd ask for prayers for our youth group. I found out something today about one of the girls that is deeply disturbing (and yet full of hope since God is working in her life). It makes me aware that I really, really need to be in prayer for these kids. Thanks for joining me in those prayers!
